Rasmus Dahlin Secures Historic Norris Trophy Nomination

Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin has officially been named a finalist for the James Norris Memorial Trophy. The Professional Hockey Writers Association determines the award each year to recognize the top defenseman in the National Hockey League. Dahlin joins Colorado Avalanche stalwart Cale Makar and Columbus Blue Jackets standout Zach Werenski as the top three vote-getters for this season. Consequently, the Buffalo captain has a chance to make franchise history. The winner will be announced in June. Chasing Sabres History If he takes home the hardware, Dahlin will become the very first player in Sabres history to win the Norris Trophy. Furthermore, he is only the second player in franchise history to even be named a finalist, joining former Buffalo captain Jim Schoenfeld who earned the nod back in the 1979-80 season.
