Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 17, 2026

1. Who We Are

Our website address is: https://sabreshub.com (referred to as “SabresHub,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting the privacy of the “Sabrehood” and all visitors to our site.

2. Comments and User Engagement

When visitors leave comments on SabresHub, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist in spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

3. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images hosted on the site.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies to enhance your experience:

  • User Convenience: If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year.
  • Account Security: Temporary cookies are set on our login page to determine browser compatibility. Login cookies last for two days, while screen options cookies last for one year.
  • Publishing: If you edit or publish an article, a cookie indicating the post ID is saved for 24 hours.

5. Advertising and Third-Party Analytics (Google Adsense)

SabresHub uses Google AdSense to show ads that keep our hockey coverage free for the Sabrehood. Here is how that works:

  • Cookies: Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to SabresHub or other spots on the web.
  • Personalized Ads: These cookies help Google show you ads that actually interest you (like hockey gear instead of random stuff).
  • Your Control: You can opt-out of personalized ads at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also visit www.aboutads.info to opt-out of third-party vendor cookies.
  • Consent: We use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) to help you choose your privacy settings when you first visit our site.

6. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on SabresHub may include embedded content (e.g., videos from YouTube, X/Twitter posts, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

7. Data Retention and Rights

  • Retention: Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to facilitate automated approval of follow-up comments. For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their user profile.
  • Your Rights: If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you or request that we erase any personal data. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

8. Where Your Data is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We do not sell or lease your personal information to third parties.

9. Contact Information

For questions regarding this Privacy Policy, please contact us at chris@sabreshub.com.

10. California and International Privacy Rights

We respect the privacy rights of all fans. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and the EEA (GDPR) have specific rights to access, delete, or limit the use of their personal information. If you wish to exercise these rights, simply email us at chris@sabreshub.com. We do not “sell” your personal information in the traditional sense, but “sharing” data for personalized ads is covered under these laws, and we provide you the tools to opt-out via our cookie banner.
